A Liebster award

How are you? Today I am bringing you the Liebster award. I was nominated by Kelsee from kelseebhankins.com if you haven’t checked out her blog, do so, it’s amazing.

Kelsee has asked some questions for me and her other nominations to answer, so here they are.

1. What did you do on your last vacation?

  • I have never been on vacation so I can’t answer this. Hopefully soon though!

2. What three words describe you best?

  • Sensitive
  • Quiet
  • Determined

3. Besides your phone, what’s one thing you bring with you everywhere you go?

  • A notepad/note book and pen. I find them key essentials.

4. What is a controversial opinion you have?

  • Everyone should be treated the same whether they be, man, woman, gay, bi, straight, trans, whatever.

5. What is/was your lastest Netflix binge?

  • I’ve recently re-watched Riverdale season 1 over again and the two latest episodes of season 2.

6. What’s the most useful app you have on your phone?

  • Probably my WordPress app, because when I get a creative idea, I like to type a title up for it and save it, so I can go back and create the post.

7. Away from your blog, do you journal? If so, how? If not, why don’t you?

  • I use to, way back when I was going through some things, so I stopped after I felt “better”. I then tried to re-start but it would just cause flashbacks of those bad times. I do want to try and start again though, I will make it a new year resolution.

8. What’s the craziest/most outrageous thing you want to achieve?

  • I honestly have no idea. Obviously as many of you know, I want my blog to turn into my job, so to achieve that, that would be crazy. I don’t really have any crazy goals set in place though.

9. If you could make a holiday, what would it be like? How would people celebrate it?

  • I would call it “We survived day” where we celebrate the fact that we are still here, still going strong and to embrace that together, we are united. To celebrate, it would be like a bank holiday where you get the day off work/school, and for that day, you can go shopping and get 50% of your items for free. That’ll be pretty cool.

10. Time freezes for everyone but you for one day – what do you do?

  • In reality, I would probably just sleep.
  • In a non-reality senario, I would play match maker. I would set people up on dates, I would make others forgive and forget, I would clean up the mess that has been made, to try and make this world a better place. Then I would write a letter to my crush, telling him how I feel and place it in his hands so when he unfreezes it’s the first thing he sees.

That guys, is all of Kelsee’s questions. They were great to answer, I loved the fact that they were unique.

If you guys want to take part then by all means do.

  • Acknowledge the blog who nominated you for this award.
  • Answer 11 questions the blogger gave you.
  • Give random facts about yourself.
  • Nominate 11 blogs
  • Give 11 questions for them to answer.

My questions

  1. What is the last thing you said to someone?
  2. One of your biggest goals?
  3. What do you regret?
  4. What don’t you regret?
  5. How are you feeling?
  6. What is your biggest fear?
  7. Fresh fries or onion rings?
  8. Where have you been on holiday?
  9. What was your childhood friend called.
  10. Do you believe in ghosts?
  11. What would you possess if you could?

Thank you for reading and again, thank you Kelsee for nominating me. Don’t forget to check out her amazing blog. See you tomorrow.

Stay safe, stay happy and live life as an adventure.

Book review: Eclipse

Welcome back to another book review. If you haven’t already, make sure you go back to the beginging and read my reviews on Twilight and New Moon.

Eclipse is the third book in the collection, which means I am so nearly finished with that awful saga. I am getting bored, and tired of Bella to be quite honest.

Eclipse is still following Bella’s messed up relationship and of course she has to go and mess things up and put everyone she supposedly loves in danger, nice on Bells (dramatic eye roll.)

So Victoria, the vampire that is hell bent on killing Bella (go girl!) is still cauing caos. There are still a string of mysterious killings and with Cheif Swan (Bella’s dad) being in the middle of finding the killer, Bella has to be extra careful.

Bella being Bella of course does the complete opposite. Instead she put herself into a position where she had to choose Edward or Jacob. Either way, whoever she chose, she would kick off the whole ancient, I’m going to kill you warewolf and vampire feud. See, Bella is literally the worst person.

Oh and of course for her graduation she isn’t thinking about how amazing that is, no, she is planning whether or not she should get Edward to turn her. Personally, I wouldn’t want Bella to be a vampire, because if she is a shit human, then imagine the crap she could make for the Cullen family.

Again, I didn’t really enjoy the book. I think now I am just sick of the same things happening to one stupid person. Just let Victoria kill her, that would make a better story. I can’t wait to read Breaking Dawn, then the saga will be over and I will never have to hear about Bella Swan again.

Obviously this is my own opinion, you may have loved this book. Let me know your opinion in the comments.

Thank you for reading.

Stay safe, stay happy and live life as an adventure.

These are a few of my favourite things

Welcome back to another post. I am bringing you a “here are a few of my favourite things” tag. I was nominated by the gorgeous Sophie. I have linked her post so if you haven’t already seen it, make sure you head over and read it now.

Basically this tag is to share the things you love. Whether that be food, objects, clothing, feelings ect. Yes, it is also to get you to sing the song too. I have been looking forward to this tag, so I am going to jump straight into it.

Who doesn’t love coming home from a long day at work and chilling with the candles lit. I love getting out of the shower, then walking into my rooms with them burning, that’s what my heaven looks like.

Yes I am one of those weird ones who sit there and watch it chuck it down. I still play the little rain game my dad taught me as a kid. It sets a real cosy mood.

There is no way you’ll catch me without my phone or a pen in my hand. I am writing all the time, whether that be a blog post, email, design plans, a story or just my shopping list. All I do is write.

If I am not writing then I am reading. Could be why my friends call me nerdy. But picture this. It’s raining, the candles are lit and you’re just cuddled up in the chair reading. Can you get any better than that?

Fresh bed sheets

As much as it kills me to put them on, the satisfaction of having fresh, clean, untouched bed sheets. The first night climbing into them is a gateway to heaven. You instantly slip into a cosy sleep. It’s perfect.

Can I class myself as one of my favourite things? Is that actually allowed? I don’t have a soild reason behind this one, I’m just my favourite person at the moment, and I count as a thing so?

That is all I can think of. My post isn’t as great as Sophie’s so make sure you go and read hers for a quality post. Thank you again Sophie for tagging me to do this. It is an amazing tag.

I’m not going to tag anyone to do this but if you haven’t done this and would like to, go ahead. Tag me so I can read what your favourite things are.

Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoyed my post.

Stay safe, stay happy and live life as an adventure.

Apple and ginger crumble (Gluten free)

How are you? If I am correct, most of you are now on half term, yay! You have a full week to enjoy my endless posts 😉. Just kidding, you have time to relax and buy some of my pre-merch (click here).

Today I thought I would bring you a new recipe. I haven’t shared one with you for a little while so why not.

  • 6 Bramley apples, peeled and sliced
  • Preserved stem ginger,3 balls, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • Light brown sugar, soft, a sprinkling
  • 100g of light brown sugar, soft. Or 100g of caster sugar if you prefer.
  • 100g of rice flour
  • 50g of porridge oats, gluten free
  • 50g of almonds, tasted
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 100g of unsalted butter, cold and diced

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/gas mark 4.
  2. Toss together the apple slices, stem ginger, ground ginger and sugar and pop it all in a heatproof dish.
  3. To make the crumble topping, simply chuck all the dry ingredients into a food processor and pulse to chop the nuts and oats up a bit.
  4. If you prefer a more rustic finish, skip this stage
  5. Rub the butter into the dry ingredients until your mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  6. You can add the butter to the processor and pulse to achieve the same results if you’re feeling lazy.
  7. Scatter the crumble topping over the fruit and bake for 35 – 40 minutes.

Hey presto. You have an apple and ginger apple crumble. You can serve this with custard or ice-cream, it’s completely down to you. Either way, dig in while it’s warm.

Don’t forget to share snaps of your creations over on instagram with #galaxygirlbakes. I hope to see you tucking into one of these soon.

Thank you for reading, come back later for a These are a few of my favourite things post.

Stay safe, stay happy and live life as an adventure.

Review: Malki Dead Sea Shower Cream

Happy Sunday! Welcome back. As you can see, I am bringing you my first review from my Malki dead sea skincare set. If you have no idea what I am talking about, here is my first impressions post. I thought now was the best time to put up my review considering I have nearly used up my shower cream already. As you read in my first impressions post I said ” This smells just like the soap, so I know I’m going to love it. The smell in this is very strong, but that could be because there is more product then the soap.” So here is what I actually think.

First try:

My skin is turning red, I don’t know if that’s normal but it’s going really red. It smells so good though.

Second try:

I love this smell. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is, but I love it. My skin isn’t going as red as it did the first time. My acne seems to be clearing up too, it’s something that starts with a R, I can never remember the name of it. It’s not your usual type of acne it’s just red spots that appear on my arms and legs, almost in a rash, that come and go when I am stressed.

Third try:

Okay my skin feels so good. Even my stretch marks are looking good. It feels healthy, it looks more life like and it’s just great. Still in love with the smell.

Fourth try

My skin feels amazing. It’s almost glowing, it just looks so good. I can’t believe what a massive impact it has had. 100% purchasing this. I don’t know how I have managed to live without it.

These opinions are my own, you may have a very different experience with this product.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed my thoughts. I totally reccomend that you grab a bottle next time you’re in boots. Totally affordable and so worth the money.

I look forward to seeing you in my next post.

Stay safe, stay happy and live life as an adventure.

Series: My dream home

Welcome back. I am so thrilled to see so many of you loving my double uploads. I am enjoying creating them too. Of course if you think they’re too much or you just think its a bit naff, let me know.

Today’s post is going to be a little short. This is more of an introduction post. I have decided to come up with a series called “my dream home”. As you can guess it will be about my dream home. Each week, or maybe each month I’m not quite sure yet, I will upload a new post in the series. I will go through my dream house room by room.

In each room I will create a wishlist, describe the colour of it, and just make you feel as though you can see it.

I’m not sure how long the posts will be or when they will be uploaded. I thought this was a fun way to put my dreams out there, while sharing some pretty cool things.

If you like the sound of the series, then make sure you follow me and keep up to date on my blog. I will be posting my first one on Friday!

Stay safe, stay happy and live life as an adventure.

    A well deserved pamper night

How are you? I am in such a creative bubble at the moment, I have idea after idea, so I am giving you double uploads. I hope you’re okay with that.

Today I thought I would share my tips for the perfect well needed pamper day. I know some of you have been working really hard and you haven’t had a chance to do something just for you, so here is a little reminder to step back and relax.

    • Candles

Is it really a pamper time if you’ve not lit every candle you own? I think not. So grab that lighter and light away.

    • Blankets

Who doesn’t enjoy being snuggled underneath a blanket? Exactly, the answer is no-one. So grab as many blankets as you can and get snuggling.

    • Food & Drinks

How can you pamper yourself if you haven’t ordered your favourite food and brought a few bottles of your favourite drink. Go crazy and enduldge yourself. Its not like you do this regularly.

    • Movies/series

Now is the perfect time to go on your netflix binge. Riverdale season 2 is amazing so if you have nothing to watch, check it out. If you want a good film to watch, then check out the babysitter. Both are great.

    • Books

Don’t fancy watching anything, no problem, why not find a book to read. If you haven’t already, read Louise Pentland’s new book Wilde like me. It’s a great pamper night book.

    • Music

Sitting in silence for me is bliss. I love it, but if you’re not like me, find some acoustic songs or piano songs. They are soothing and really relax you.

    • Face masks

If you’ve neglected yourself, chances are you have neglected your skin too. Treat yourself to a face mask. Now is the time to thank your skin for co-operating with you while you’ve been stressed.

    • Baths

Come on, honestly tell me when you last treated yourself to a lush bath bomb bath? Yes that’s a mouthful to say. Come on, throw you’re favourite one in, let it fill your bath with glorious colours, get in and feel the stress just dissolve.

    • Cute pj’s and fluffy socks

Come on! Wrap up in your fave pj’s, find your fluffy socks, and now snuggle down under your mountain of blankets, read and fall asleep.

    • Free your schedule

No, tonight is not the night where you decide to do a million and one things. You are completely free, you have nothing to do apart from sit there, read/watch/listen to whatever you decide, while stuffing your face full with your favourite food and drinking your fave drink. Tonight is your night to be selfish, just relax, if it was really that important, it will still be there tomorrow for you.

    • Sleep

The one thing you need more then anything else is sleep. You’ve over done it, you’re brain hurts and it needs a rest too. Do not go to bed thinking about the work you have to do. Free your mind and just drift of into a peaceful, stress free sleep.

That’s it. Now its down to you to make sure you look after yourself. When will you make time to pamper yourself?

Thank you for reading, have a wonderful night.

Stay safe, stay happy and live life as an adventure.
